Continental (Sorted By Country And Year)

"Continental was originally only issued in Japan in 1997, thanks to Shoichi Kajino and his L'Appareil Photo label. To my mind, it is an album we could have released worldwide in 1996 - the album that followed He's On The Phone and Too Young To Die. After the intensity of the first few years, it was a relief to play about with a variety of sounds (Eurodance! Glam! Library music! Drum and bass!) and because of that I think it sounded quite refreshing after the techno-folk of Tiger Bay, paving the way for the very sunlit Good Humor. It was also the first time we recorded with Gerard Johnson and Brian Higgins, both of whom would make huge contributions to St Et over the next few years." Bob Stanley - 21st June 2022

"Originally a compilation but now viewed by the band as an album proper."
