In 1987 Bob Stanley sent a Caff issue to James Brown (maybe Caff 3?). This was likely timely as the day James became Live Review Editor was the day that Stanley's first work, a review of the Surf Drums show at Burberries in Birmingham was printed in the August 15, 1987 issue of NME.
