Black Friday and a White Christmas News about the LP shown here below, but first off... ...we'd like to thank everyone who bought our Christmas fanclub releases last week. Those sold out in record time and will be despatched from this coming Monday, with signed Christmas Cards, in time for Christmas. We've had quite a few requests for a CD release of 'The Character Of Saint Etienne' and are looking into a special pressing of that in the new year. As we're unsure of CD demand these days we'll likely put this on pre-sale for a couple of weeks in January so you can order as many as you like and we'll ship finished stock in March. Fanclub Thursday Tomorrow - Thurs 17th Nov - we will be be offering up our 2022 fanclub releases for pre-order. Anyone can purchase these, all you need to do is simply head to the links below at the designated times. 'The Character Of Saint Etienne' includes 12 previously unreleased hot dishes and cold cuts from the recent Saint Etienne era. Some recordings were one-off projects, others gems that we ruthlessly tossed aside for reasons no one can quite remember. Limited to 1100 copies, the album is offered on a transparent deep blue vinyl to match its Mini Disc sleeve, plus there's a super limited black vinyl edition. All copies come with a download card and can be pre-ordered here from 6pm GMT tomorrow: https://bit.ly/3UqKywZ (link also in bio) Next up is a vinyl edition of 'Fairfax High', the companion piece to 1998's 'Good Humor' on "wax" for the very first time. Hove Well that was fun!! Thanks to everyone who came out to see us at the Old Market in Hove last night. It really was a special evening and we're looking forward to doing it all again at Shiiine On this Sunday. Malmo 1997 "I went over to visit Saint Etienne a couple of times while they were recording Good Humor in Malmo, Sweden. Once to shoot some pictures of Sarah for her solo record and once with Debsey while she was recording some vocals. Our daughter was still a baby and so on the second visit I was basically there for child care duties while Debsey was working. It was a wonderful town to visit and felt like being in a fictional 1970s TV series like Jason King or the Protectors. Tambourine studios where the band were recording was a co-op run jointly by The Cardigans and Eggstone and again felt other worldly and like some kind of time warp back into a perfect version of the past. I think this picture was taken on my second visit. I had my camera with me and we wandered out for a couple of hours to grab some shots. I don't think any of the pictures were used at the time but this was taken in a closed amusement park in the centre of town." Things We Found This Week It was a nice surprise to find Bob and Pete's portrait hanging in the Museum Of Modern Art in New York. The picture, taken by Wolfgang Tillmans in 1990, forms part of an excellent career spanning retrospective of the German born photographer's work entitled 'To Look Without Fear'. The exhibit will be on display at MoMa NYC until Jan 1st before moving to the Art Gallery of Ontario and then MoMA, San Francisco. Well worth a visit!! Other nice finds this week were some early test pressings. Sarah's first ever 45 'Love Is All You Need'/Coastal Town' from 1987. Plus, her very own white label pressing of 'Foxbase Alpha' still in it's original mailing envelope dated 9th September 1991 - resplendent with it's original runout groove etching "Touched by the hand of Joe Meek".
