Classic Album Sundays present 'Foxbase Alpha' at The British Library
To celebrate this year's National Album Day we’ve been invited by 'Classic Album Sundays' host Colleen 'Cosmo' Murphy to take part in a special one-off event at The British Library in London. The three of us will be discussing Foxbase Alpha with Colleen from 7pm on Monday 14th October which will be followed by an uninterrupted playback of the entire album, concluding with a Q&A session.

Colleen founded Classic Album Sundays in 2010 to celebrate the album format, vinyl records, communal listening and audiophile sound. What started as a monthly Album Club in a friend's pub quickly became a globally recognised series that tells the stories behind the albums that have changed our lives.
The British Library says: "Colleen 'Cosmo' Murphy will be joined by Sarah Cracknell, Bob Stanley and Pete Wiggs to explore and tell the stories behind Saint Etienne's debut album Foxbase Alpha. When it was released in 1991 on Heavenly Recordings, the album was emblematic of both indie and dance music cross-pollination and the cinematic lounge and chill out scene. Featuring the singles 'Nothing Can Stop Us' and 'Only Love Can Break Your Heart', the album was nominated for a Mercury Prize and over 30 years later is still beloved by fans. It's a British classic and a natural choice for National Album Day celebrations.
Following the interview, Foxbase Alpha will be played uninterrupted in its entirety on a world class audiophile sound system featuring Danley Sound Lab loudspeakers so that listeners can experience the album in full detail. After the playback, the audience will have the opportunity to ask the band members their own questions."
