 In the studio: Word is that Saint Etienne are targeting to release a new album in the summer this year full of "bangers" followed by some shows potentially at Christmas and a tour in 2026. Secret collaborations may be involved. New To The Discography (1): In 2025 SaintEtienneDisco.com will launch a significant update to Bob, Pete, and Sarah's timelines pre-Saint Etienne/Pre-1990. Keep an eye out for the launch in January. New To The Discography (2): Building on the vision of Etienne Heaven from back in the day we are 'finally' starting to build a 'song section' for the Saint Etienne Discography. If interested check out the start of this project here. Songs will be added throughout 2025 and hopefully we wrap up the project by the end of the year. Open to submissions from the Saint Etienne community as we role this out. |

Some were one-off projects, others are gems that were ruthlessly tossed aside for reasons no one can quite remember. The album was originally released in December 2022 on Vinyl. |

2025 - FO 023CD Music For Hermione: The band are targeting to reissue these two recordings which were specially composed to soundtrack ‘Kingdom Of The Sick’, an animated film by renowned artist Andy Holden that accompanied his ‘Full of Days’ exhibition. This was a tribute to the unknown artist Hermione Burton, whose collected work Andy had found left in charity shops scattered across Bedfordshire. The album was originally released in December 2023 on Vinyl. |

 35 Years of Saint Etienne "Marvin, Marvin, Brutalist Architecture, Future, Future, The future is clean and modern" When I Was Seventeen (Words and Music, 2012) Thirty-five years of Saint Etienne can not be summed up in the twelve albums that they have done (counting the Japanese compilation/album continental). We have gone from samples taken from decimalisation records to an ambient pop sound collage. In those 35 years, we have seen change in the music industry with various genres and crazes coming and going, but Saint Etienne are the ones who haven’t followed a specific pattern. For example, when Britpop was slowly dying in 1997, they were in Sweden recording their album Good Humor, which included a harpsichord and lyrics about the USA and Ford capris. But as we look towards the future with uncertainty, we can wrap ourselves in the past with memories of being seventeen, walking across the beach with our shoes in one hand and Dive playing through our earphones. From a concept album about people who live in a block of flats to where it all began in Croydon in 1990, time marches on. Hyderabad, Silvertown, buffalo, my magpie eyes set on the prize.  In the Record Room: Saint Etienne's Bob Stanley launched a patreon page in 2024 entitled Bob Stanley's Record Room. This is what Bob says about his record room: "If you've ever enjoyed my columns in Record Collector, or the Times, or dear old Melody Maker over the years, as well as the books I've written that have been creeping out over the last few years, then I think you'll have a good idea of what to expect. You're going to feel at home in the Record Room. It's a haven for pop treasures big and small, beloved and forgotten, from Elvis to Eden Kane, Sparks to Spanky Wilson, Hot Butter to Hot Buttered Soul." There will be writing, videos, reviews, top tips, playlists, and regular rummages through my stupidly large collection of pop-related tat. Believe me, there will be no shortage of stuff to read, listen to, and watch. So put on your raving shoes and come on in. And maybe bring a 45 adaptor with you, just in case I forget mine. 2024 - Shampoo - Complete Shampoo Boxset was released and included the Absolute Shampoo album which included eight tracks co-written with Saint Etienne's Bob Stanley and Pete Wiggs.  Credit: Photographer TBC Deborah Wykes & Paul Kelly met while touring the world with Saint Etienne as part of their backing band in the late part of 1992, a fruitful partnership ensued and following a 7" release on the seminal US label Summershine in 1997, Birdie were signed to the newly formed It Records. An album, good enough to charm the birds from the trees was released in 1999. A second one followed in 2001. |
