New Ace Compilation by Bob Stanley and Tim Burgess called Tim Burgess & Bob Stanley Present Tim Peaks Songs For A Late-Night Diner was released on November 29, 2019 on both 2XVinyl and CD. It has been logged in the compilation section of the Disco.

Pictures of The Christmas 2019 CDEP have been added to the Fanclub section of the Disco. It was given out free with every purchase of the UK pressing of The Misadventures Of Saint Etienne LP released in December 2019 or any other purchase from the Saint Etienne shop over 20 Pounds.

Three Day Week CD unboxed

Tea & Symphony - The English Baroque Sound 1968-1974, compilation compiled by Bob Stanley will be released on Ace Records on January 31, 2020 on 2XLP and CD.

This version is quite different than the one Bob released in 2007 called Tea & Symphony (The English Baroque Sound 1967-1974) on Castle Records.

In 2013 Saint Etienne released their second DVD off the Heavenly Films label in conjunction with the BFI called A London Trilogy. The DVD featured the films of Saint Etienne from 2003 to 2007. You can see the full packaging here in the Video section of the Discography.

Hello, everyone....we're getting our Christmas playlists together - a bit of Gordon Lightfoot, a bit of Nathan Fake, a dab of Roy Wood - and thought we'd come up with a festive offer for you.

Due to popular demand and daffy prices on ebay, we are re-pressing the long deleted Japanese only THE MISADVENTURES OF SAINT ETIENNE on vinyl. This first ever UK pressing will be on both black and white vinyl editions and strictly limited to 500 copies of each. As you know we like black vinyl but wanted to offer a coloured vinyl edition for those of you who have been requesting this. The album comes with a download card and the catalogue number, if you're interested is FO013. It has been mastered by Guy Davie who has done his usual excellent job - we're really happy with it and think you will be too.

PLUS! As we're in the studio working on some new songs, we thought we'd record a couple of new Christmas numbers - 'Thank You Very Much' and 'Tramway Song'. An insider has dropped news that there may be new Christmas tracks coming down the pipeline shortly. Also dropped the news that the reissue for Words & Music on vinyl is scheduled for next year. Bring on Christmas.

18 months later and the 3.0 update of the singles section in the Saint Etienne Discography is finally complete. The update started in July of 2018 and finally wrapped up this month. The 35th single was released in November 2015 in the UK on a white label with catalog number STET001.

One sided 12” featuring the first ever Saint Etienne recording made by Bob Stanley and Pete Wiggs in 1984. 'We Survived' came rubber stamped in a plain black disco bag. Signed by Bob and Pete on reverse label. Comes with a A4 press release telling the story behind the recording (penned by Bob) and period colour photograph of Bob and Pete. Limited to 300 copies.

Here's a unique addition to the Discography. A 1999 CD reissue of Foxbase Alpha from Japan and made in Korea. Appreciate the tip and pictures from Gordon W who unearthed this rarity and shared some pictures.

The final 5 dates on the Tiger Bay 25th Anniversary Tour are scheduled in October for Spain and England. Tickets are still available for some of the shows here.

On June 18, 1994 Bob Stanley and Pete Wiggs djed at the Drum/Jockey Slut sponsored Drinking Club, Joshua Brooks, Manchester, England. Also on the bill were the Dust Brothers and a live performance by Icerink Artists Earl Brutus. This is the poster.

Being the 25th anniversary of Tiger Bay this year its interesting that the Disco's first sighting of this 25 year old promo cassette issued by Heavenly in the UK surfaces on the web.

The Daisy Age compilation compiled by Bob Stanley is out today on Ace Records on 2XLP and CD.

In 2017 Bob Stanley entered into a deal with Sainsbury Supermarket Company to compile compilations which were sold in supermarkets across the UK. Six compilations were released in total. 3 were released on CD and 2XLP and 3 were released only on 2xLP. The Disco has fully unboxed the three CDs released in 2018. Songs For The Carnegie Deli CD unboxed

Songs For The Carnegie Deli was a compilation compiled by Bob Stanley and Pete Wiggs and released in January of 2016 on CD. The concept for the CD was built on a short visit to New York City in 1991 and a stop off at an old skool Deli called the Carnegie via legendary, almost mythical, american Jerry Jaffe who's name has appeared many times during the history of Saint Etienne. The deli closed December 30, 2016, approximately a year after this CD was released.

The 30th single was released on September 22, 2008 in the UK on Heavenly Recordings and was the first single taken from London Conversations. It was released on 7 Inch and 2 CD singles.

The interesting story around this track is its a withdrawn single from 1995. Bob once said a few of us "might have the original tear-soaked promos" (potentially the Casino Classics Angel/Burnt Out Car CDEP promo?). The song did end up on Casino Classics (1996), Continental (1997), and the original version was featured on Nice Price (2006).

London Conversations UK 2CD set with catalog number HVNLP69CDDE was recently acquired from a secondhand shop in Toronto Canada of all places. The collection has been scanned and archived into the Discography. Includes great packaging which is different from the 2CD/DVD Book that was released around the same time. Includes a great historical piece written by Jon Savage which is worth a read via this unboxing.

Saint Etienne celebrate the 25th anniversary of their third album Tiger Bay with the release of a limited edition vinyl box set. A companion piece to 2016's Foxbase Alpha box.

Japan Tour 93 Laminate

From May 6 to May 10 1993 Saint Etienne did a tour of Japan (4 dates). Based on current records this was the second time for the Band to leave the UK on tour after there visit to France in 1991.

Heavenly Films and BBC Arena team up to bring you two outstanding documentaries about London. This program is a special Save The Social event and all proceeds will go towards The Social, Little Portland Street which has recently been under threat of closure due to rent hikes and developers.

Old Kent Road (1985) directed by Mary Dickinson for BBC Arena. The film will be followed by a Q&A with director Mary Dickinson hosted by Travis Elborough.

Finisterre (2003) directed by Paul Kelly and Kieran Evans with a soundtrack by Saint Etienne. The film will be preceded by a Q&A with directors Kieran Evans and Paul Kelly plus Saint Etienne members Pete Wiggs and Sarah Cracknell.

On Jun 29, 2007 their third London film, This Is Tomorrow, a history of the Southbank Centre, premiered with a live performance, including a 60-piece orchestra, at the Royal Festival Hall

Funky Monkey have completed an album which began with Theme from... Treecastle, a single originally released in 1999. The Forgotten World of Treecastle is a soundtrack for a story co-written with Anthony Daniels (C3PO from Star Wars) and features new music recorded over the last 20 years. Three of the songs have been released before, including Tomorrow's Girl, a collaboration with Sarah Cracknell from Saint Etienne. This is the side project of Gerard Johnson

This month the Dusty Springfield compilation Complete A and B Sides 1963-1970 released in 2006 on Saint Etienne's label Eclipse Records is completely unboxed by the Disco. The two CD set was compiled by Bob Stanley and Pete Wiggs. Design and layout was by Paul Kelly

Eclipse Records was a label run by Bob and Pete from 2006 to 2009 and released seven different CD collections.

"Saint Etienne's Tiger Bay is regarded by many as their finest album. Released in 1994, it was a groundbreaking blend of electronica with traditional folk melodies, which included the singles Pale Movie, Like A Motorway and Hug My Soul. It was arranged and conducted by the late David Whitaker, who had worked with Serge Gainsbourg, Marianne Faithfull and Lee Hazlewood. The group have never performed the album with a full orchestra before, and this 25th anniversary show - to tie in with a box set re-issue - will be their only performance this year."

Tickets for this special evening go onsale to Barbican members from 10am on Thursday 31st January and non members the following morning 1st February
